SGS is involved in the development of antibacterials, antivirals and vaccines since more than 25 years.

Anti-HIV/AIDS is SGS’ major therapeutic experience in terms of number of projects and trials performed. SGS successfully completed multicentre and multinational trials with protease inhibitors, non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors, virus entry inhibitor (e.g. CCR-5 antagonist) and integrase inhibitors.
A total of about 10.000 patients were enrolled across investigating sites in Western/Eastern EU (including Poland, Russia), US, Canada, Latin America.

SGS has also managed 47 Phase 1 to 3 trials with antibiotics, anti-hepatitis and vaccines since 2003.
