VOLUNTEERS’ INCLUSION PERIOD CHECK (AKA VIP CHECK)

In the mid 1990´s, “trial subject tourism” was estimated between one and ten percent and is undesirable for a variety of reasons. Telephone lists, for example, from institutes from Sweden to Spain were being passed on between the subjects. The recognition of this situation was one reason that the Freiburg ethics commission international came up with a method to objectively and internationally prevent trial subject tourism.
